Western Illustrator Rooted in Ranch Life
I'm Hannah, a self-taught western illustrator from northeastern Oklahoma. My artwork is inspired by the horses, ranch chores, and ordinary moments that make up my daily life.
God has given me the gift of creativity, and my aim is to use it faithfully and to the best of my ability. My hope is that every piece carries an honest slice of western life into your space.

Life behind the lines.
My drawing journey truly began in 2022 when my family moved from our Oklahoma land to Nebraska so my husband could further his horse-training career. Living in town and mostly away from horses made me miss ranch life enough to start drawing it. I picked up my sketchbook for the first time in years and began studying equine anatomy and drawing techniques so that I could put pieces of the life I missed on paper.
We are now back on our Oklahoma property where we're raising three kids and building a small cowhorse training facility. Life is rarely quiet, but I can almost always find a little pocket of time to draw. I carry a sketchbook most places with me, even though I might not use it

The Illustration Process
A drawing usually begins with something I've seen while I'm out saddling or cleaning stalls. A lot of the reference photos I use I've taken on our ranch.
Cowhorses are my biggest inspiration, and studying their movement, mannerisms and expressions continually challenges me to improve my drawing skills. My long-term goal is to keep improving the technical side while developing my own style.
WHAT IT MEANS
What I Hope the Work Carries.
My hope is that the things I draw will convey honestly the perspective that this gritty life deals us. I want the work to reflect the close relationships that horsemen and women build with their horses, and the level of attention to detail that is poured into our daily life.
I hope that my art is relatable and brings joy to the viewer.
